Funny Signs
Funny signs can be found everywhere we look. From books and magazine
to out driving the highways and byways of the nations, funny signs
abound. Some of my own favorite personal funny signs are created
by the highway department.
Some funny signs are simply shocking!
I just love driving to a stop at a stoplight and seeing those big
white letters on the pavement in front of me that say "Down
Slow" or a little further on the road a big white arrow pointing
one direction and a few feet later a big white arrow pointing the
opposite direction. These are funny signs, my friend!
First, does the highway department think that we drive way too
fast, in fact so fast that we give up all of our grade school English
class training that says that people in the USA read from left to
right and from top to bottom?

Second, what is the point and putting two opposing arrows on the
roadway just a few short feet apart other than causing confusion?
Does the highway department not see these as funny signs as I do
or do they get some sadistic humor value out of painting these nonsensical
messages?
But, though I rag on the highway department, they are not the only
ones creating funny signs. There have been plenty of funny signs
on billboards, banners, streamers and other places created by someone
failing to spell check at the sign company that printed them.

Some humor is simply self-explanatory.

Funny signs are closely related to funny
ads though they are not necessarily the same thing. While ads
are commercials, funny signs don't have to be. A simple misprint
on an informational sign in a hotel lobby or on a government building
qualify as funny signs.
And, sometimes people just make up funny signs just to be humorous.
Spoofs of roads signs are numerous with those little stick figure
characters engaged in all sorts of interesting positions.
Funny signs, many times, are meant to be helpful. But, with misspellings
or unintended humor associated with the sign that passes over the
heads to the sign makers and posters, this can be quite funny at
times.
So, if you've seen a few funny signs, while not email them in as
we'd like to post them to share with all. Funny signs need to be
viewed by as many people as possible as humor is one thing that
connects all of humanity together in a good way.
